Helen Cross Loy
age 78, of Westmoreland, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at Hendersonville Medical Center. Funeral service was Monday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Charlie Millson officiating. Interment followed in New Hope Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. She was born in Sumner County, daughter of the late James Cleveland Shrum and Mary S. Moss Shrum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Edward Cross and John L. Loy, one son Larry Edward Cross and seven brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Westmoreland Church of Christ. She is survived by a son Alan Cross and wife Angela of Clarksville; four daughters, Rebecca Nelis of Indianapolis, IN, LaDonna Tant and husband Bart of Castalian Springs, Melinda Bell and husband Dennis of Castalian Springs, Yvonne Robertson and husband Keith of Castalian Springs; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Nelis, George Nelis, Tony Nelis, Rocky Nelis, Adam Cross, Matt Cross, Nathan (Heather) Bell, Nick Bell, Cameron Albert, Laura Albert, Brandon Robertson , Austin Robertson and 13 great grandchildren.  Online condolences may be sent at
Lola Huntsman Bruce
age 96, of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010. Funeral service was Tuesday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Roark officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park with grandchildren and great grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Employees of Brandywood Nursing Home served as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Bruce was born in Allen County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ireland Eddie Huntsman and Lucy Ann Duke Huntsman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John T. Bruce Jr., one brother Ollo Huntsman and two sisters, Leola Mitchell and Lassie Huntsman. She was a member of the Salem Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Russell R. Bruce and wife Nellie of Gallatin, Roy T. Bruce and wife Joanne of Gallatin; one daughter Sandra B. Little and husband Bruce of Gallatin; one brother Arlo Huntsman of Cameron, Texas; one sister, Vassie Scott and husband Stanley of New Palenstine, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Cathey Roark and husband Bill of Lebanon, Barry Bruce and wife Becky of Gallatin, Chris Bruce and wife Karen of Gallatin, Ann Green and husband Mike of Mt. Juliet, Glenn Bruce and wife Penny of Westmoreland, Brian Little and wife Jennifer of Atlanta, GA, and Scott Little of Orlando, FL;  ten great-grandchildren, Aaron Bruce, Elizabeth Bruce, Emily Green, Abbey Green, Christine Bruce Clark and husband Brandon, Christy Pope and husband Donnie, April Moses and husband Matt, Rachael Shell and husband Nathan, Holly Bruce and Kaitlyn Bruce and five great great-grandchildren. Carol Ann Silcox
age 61, of Bethpage, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Dan Wilson and Brother Walt Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2:00 -8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Silcox was born in Akron, Ohio October 15, 1948. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Harlen and Ruth Ann Meyers Busch and one brother Roger Busch. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Ray Silcox of Bethpage, one son Kenneth Harlen “Bubba” (Erika) Silcox of Bethpage; four daughters, Theresa Lynn Roake of Middlefield, Ohio, Donna Rae (Sean) Grimes of Nashville, Barbara Ann Wallace of Bethpage, Michelle Marie Mayse of Bethpage; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Winnie Davis Weatherford
age 91, of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Gallatin Health Care. Funeral service is today, January 28, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Mrs. Weatherford was a member of the First Baptist Church. Dr. Larry Yarborough will officiate the service. Remaining visitation is today from 11 until time of service. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. She attended Gallatin High School and later was employed by Genesco, Gallatin Bakery and retired from Eaton Corporation. Mrs. Weatherford was born in Jackson County, November 2, 1918, daughter of the late Mack Nabb Cook and Myrtle Mae Taylor Cook. She is preceded in death by her husband Dewey Wilson Weatherford. She is survived by a son, Richard Weatherford and his wife Carmen of Augusta, GA.; a daughter, Judy Wilson of Gallatin; six grandchildren, Chad Wilson, Ty Wilson (Shannon), Keisha Wilson, Richard Weatherford, Jr., (Laura), Leigh Hite (Mark), Amy Ristroph (Mark) and 12 great-grandchildren..
