The Gallatin Little League American Post 17 9-11-year-old All Stars represented District 2 in the District Tournament held in Johnson City, Tennessee last week. Gallatin suffered their only loss of the tournament to Goodlettsville in game one but Post 17 would exact their revenge knocking out Goodlettsville later in the week.

Advancing to the championship game against undefeated Tullahoma, Post 17 needed to win two games to claim the championship. After defeating Tullahoma in game one, 6-2, Gallatin forced the if necessary game for the winner-take-all championship series.

Nearly run-ruling Tullahoma, Gallatin claimed their first Little League State Championship in city history, 16-9.

The team will now travel to Greenville, North Carolina for the Tournament of State Champions for the Southeast Region. Post 17 will begin play on July 29.

If anyone is interested in making a donation towards travel expenses for the team, please contact head coach Jay Kelley at 615-417-7956.
