Howard Elementary welcomed back 22 of its former students last week for the school's second annual Senior Walk.
Dressed in their graduation cap and gowns, the students from Gallatin, Station Camp and Hendersonville high schools walked through the school's hallways May 11 as they were cheered on by former teachers and current students.
The event has become a special tradition not only for the students, but the school's teachers as well, said Principal Cindy Swafford.
"We just want to let these seniors know that we've been with them and kept up with them for all of these years even after they left Howard," she said. "This is also an incentive to our students here to show them that (these graduates) have done it, that hard work pays off and that will be them someday."
