Christmas Anonymous applications are being accepted at the Bethesda Center at 124 S. Main St. in Ashland City. Cheatham County residents who need assistance providing toys for their children for Christmas can submit applications through Nov 15. This is an annual community service project sponsored by the Ashland City Civitan Club.  

The November meeting of the Cheatham County Democratic Executive Committee will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Denney Room (second floor) of the Pinnacle Bank, 524 South Main St. in Ashland City.  Much of the meeting will be devoted to the results of the Nov. 6 election and to honoring our candidates who have fought so valiantly and so well to uphold our Democratic values. For information, contact Michael Lottman, Chair, at lottmanhouse@aol.com, or call (615) 714-2702, or check our website at www.cheathamdemocrats.org or Facebook page.

The UT/TSU Extension “Beef Producers Night Out” will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at The Livery Stables, 1104 Main St. in Pleasant View. Beef cattle producers who would like to keep on the cutting edge of the industry are invited to attend. A beef dinner, sponsored by the Cheatham County Cattlemen’s Association and the Cheatham County Farm Bureau will be followed by a cattle nutrition update with Dr. Jason Smith, UT Beef Cattle Nutrition Specialist. The Cheatham County Historical & Genealogical Association Fall Bake Sale will be held Friday, Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m. until all items are sold at the Tucker Empson Building, 264 S. Main St. in Ashland City.

Cheatham County Lions Club 5th annual Turkey Shoot will be held Nov. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Shotguns only at the Ashland city Fairgrounds.

The annual Christmas Anonymous fundraising roadblock will be Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Volunteers will be collecting money on Main Street in Ashland City and at the traffic light at New Hope Road.  The event is sponsored by the Ashland City Civitan Club and money collected will be used to purchase toys for underprivileged children in Cheatham County.  If you prefer to send a donation it can be mailed to the Ashland City Civitan Club, P.O. Box 146, Ashland City, TN 37015. 

Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at the Ashland City Church of Christ, 110 Cumberland St. in Ashland City, on Monday, Nov. 19 from noon-6 p.m. Call 1-800-733-2767 for information or to make an appointment.

Boyd Funeral Home is collecting non-perishable food, toys, blankets and coats for children ages infant through 12 for families who are seeking assistance from the Bethesda Center of Ashland City. Donations may be dropped off at 101 Elizabeth St. in Ashland City from Nov. 26-Dec. 14, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Parents Day Out program at Ashland City United Methodist Church, 2226 Oak Street, has openings Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.  Call (615) 792-4631 or churchoffice@ashlandcityumc.org.
