The State Farm 3rd Thursday on Main free summer concert series will kick off its 2019 lineup in downtown Gallatin tonight with a performance by The Parks.
The concert, which starts at 6:30 p.m., is the first of four monthly performances held on the third Thursday of each month from June through September.
“We tried to get a variety of bands that people know and have requested to come,” said Donna Belote, executive director of Historic Downtown Gallatin which organizes the event. “We have a really good lineup this year, so I expect we’ll have a really good turnout every month.”
As many as 2,000 people are expected at each concert. Limited seating will be available and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
Food and alcohol will also be available to purchase from downtown restaurants each night.
Additional acts scheduled to perform during the 3rd Thursday on Main concert series this year include:
*Rockland Road (formerly Martin Family Circus) – July 18
*The WannaBeatles – Aug. 15
*The James Story Band – Sept. 19
“This is a good family-friendly opportunity to hear some great music, enjoy some local food from the restaurants and go to the boutiques and shops that are open that night,” Belote said. “Pick up some bargains and just see what is in your downtown.”
Parking for 3rd Thursday on Main is available throughout downtown Gallatin. Street closures for each concert will begin at 5 p.m. and include Public Square along with North Water Avenue from Franklin Street to Main Street.
