The annual Shop with a Cop event was held at the Walmart in Gallatin on Dec. 1. Local children were paired with volunteers from the Gallatin police and fire departments, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and other public safety agencies in order to conduct holiday shopping for the children and their families.
This year’s event provided over 120 area children the opportunity to shop for their families and themselves. According to Gallatin Police Lieutenant Bill Vahldiek, this year’s event was one of the smoothest ever held.
“We had a great turnout this morning,” said Vahldiek. “We are grateful for the generosity of our volunteers, our donors and the overall support of the Gallatin community.”
