Gallatin Shalom Zone invites children entering first through fifth grade to sign up for the organizations 15th annual summer day camp being held in person this year from June 1 through June 25.

The camp focuses on literacy, physical fitness, enrichment, crafts, recreation, as well as introducing students to community leaders who volunteer and provide enrichment activities. Free breakfast and lunch are served thanks to a partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank.

Camp is held Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. beginning June 1. Students must commit to the entire camp ending on June 25.

The cost of the camp is free, although there is a small registration fee of $25 per child for all four weeks. If parents cannot afford the cost, they can volunteer to work two hours during camp, or attend a free nutrition class.

“Shalom has a long history of working with the community and meeting the needs of those we are involved with, and we want to continue services but keep everyone safe,” said PJ Davis, executive director. She added that children and adults will have temperatures taken daily.

Sign-up now at the Shalom Zone office, located at 600 Small Street in Gallatin, or on-line gallatinshalomzone.org/camps. Registration is first come, first serve. Slots are limited. For more information, call 615-442-7575.
