Hundreds of preschool-aged children and their parents took part in Gallatin’s annual Trick-or-Treat on the Square last week despite rain and cold weather.

The event, held every year on Halloween, is organized by Historic Downtown Gallatin (formerly known as Greater Gallatin) and features participation from the majority of the downtown businesses.

“We started this for toddlers and daycare kids to have a safe place to trick or treat during the day,” Historic Downtown Gallatin Executive Director Donna Belote said about the event. “The crowd was definitely smaller this year due to the weather, but the people that came definitely had a good time.”
