Welch to offer MA degree in teaching




The Welch College Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) will start in January 2019, providing quality graduate education with a Christian worldview.

The competitively-priced 33-hour Welch MAT* joins the Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry as the second accredited master’s degree at Welch College. A 2018 US News and World Report Best Colleges issue ranked Welch College 13th among southern regional colleges and the fifth most affordable private college in Tennessee. Financial aid is available for all students.

The Welch MAT features fall, spring, and summer program enrollment points and 10-week courses on-campus, as well as live, online via Zoom. Courses meet on Monday and Thursday evenings and students may complete the program in 18 months.

Information sessions at 3:30 p.m. CST Friday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 7 are available on-campus and online via Zoom (contact evickery@welch.edu for an emailed meeting link). Detailed program information and applications are available at Welch.edu/MATeaching.

*The College anticipates final accreditor approval in December, 2018.
