The Edison School’s Board of Trustees has named Jonathan Wilson as the new Head of School.
Wilson brings a wealth of administrative experience, a strong educational background, and exceptional leadership skills. He spent nine years as a principal at a Christian school in Florida before moving to Tennessee in 2009. Currently, he is the Men’s Soccer Coach at Welch College.
He volunteered as The Edison School’s physical education teacher for the last couple months of the 2017-2018 school year. His doctoral dissertation involved a study of special education programs provided by private schools in Florida.
Wilson and his wife, Robyn, have a 15-year-old son who is deaf-blind and diagnosed with autism. Being the father of a child with learning differences drives his passion to positively impact the special needs community in our area. He and Robyn lead a small group for adults with special needs at their home church in Hendersonville.
“I am excited to join The Edison School where they value educating students who learn differently,” Wilson said. “For years I have contemplated starting a school just like Edison, so this is a dream job for me. I look forward to building on the past six years and creating a strong future.”
