Measles Vaccination Rates Dropped During Pandemic to 81 Percent in 2021

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 23, 2022 (HealthDay News) -- The estimated global coverage with a first measles-containing vaccine (MCV) dose (MCV1) decreased to 81 percent in 2021, according to research published in the Nov. 25 issue of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

Anna A. Minta, M.D., from the World Health Organization in Geneva, and colleagues describe progress toward measles elimination during 2000 to 2021, updating a previous report.
