3 charged in Gallatin narcotics bust

Three Gallatin residents are facing multiple drug and weapons charges following a recent arrest.

On April 28, police arrested Rebeccah Hutchison, Trevor Rice, and Joey Hunter Duke in the 400 block of Old Flynn Road in Gallatin.

Hutchison, 28, and Rice, 30, were both charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of Schedule VI drug for resale, manufacturing Schedule VI drugs, maintaining a dwelling for narcotics, and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony.

Duke, 30, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, maintaining a dwelling for narcotics, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

After the Gallatin Police Department Flex Unit executed a search warrant, the property was secured by Sumner County Emergency Response Team.

According to the police affidavit, “A large amount of narcotics were located throughout the house, along with drug paraphernalia.”

Among the items confiscated, investigators found two small bags of methamphetamine totaling 2 grams, an additional green leafy substance in bags and jars, as well as a jar holding 16 grams of marijuana, 2.4 grams of methamphetamines in a backpack, an orange wax substance suspected to be THC wax that weighed approximately 40 grams, a digital scale, grinders, an additional box with approximately 25 grams of methamphetamines, and a jar with a large piece of marijuana with a lid that read, “sold Friday for $150.”

Police also located several weapons – a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, a Rossi 38 Special, an Omni Amer Tach AR-15, and numerous rounds of ammunition.

In addition, an indoor grow house was discovered in one of the home’s back bedrooms.

“There were two plants inside of the grow house and a third plant that has began to sprout in a blue barrel next to the grow house,” the affidavit stated. “Next to the grow house was a closet where a wire had been hung so the marijuana could be dried once harvested.”

Rice was placed on a $150,000 bond. Hutchison received a $100,000 bond, and Duke was given a bond of $75,000.

All three individuals were scheduled for their first court appearance in General Sessions Court on July 5, but in each case, a continuance was granted.
