A Gallatin man has been charged with rape of a child involving a 12-year-old girl.
Joshua Dashawn Moore, 34, was arrested May 12 after the victim, who is now a teenager, told police he raped her while he thought she was sleeping, according to an arrest affidavit written by Investigator Charles Cook with the Gallatin Police Department.
“The female juvenile advised that this happened 2-3 times a week for a couple of months, but it hadn’t happened since,” Cook wrote.
When interviewed by police, Moore confessed to performing a sex act on the child “one time a couple of years ago,” according to the affidavit.
As of Monday, Moore was still being held in the Sumner County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court on June 5.
