Majority Leader William Lamberth, R-Portland, announced Josh Cross has joined the staff of the Tennessee House of Representatives Republican Caucus as deputy press secretary.

Cross, a Gallatin native, is an award-winning journalist with nine years of experience working in various media roles, including covering politics and government for Gannett and Main Street Media of Middle Tennessee, where he served as the lead reporter for the Gallatin News.

His duties will include serving as deputy to Jennifer Easton, press secretary for the 73-member House Republican Caucus and strengthening constituent communications.

“Josh has a solid reputation as a proven communicator and we are thrilled he will be joining our talented team serving Tennesseans in this role,” Lamberth said. “His experience in journalism has well-prepared him to effectively communicate our conservative priorities of keeping taxes low, expanding job growth, improving education and building safer communities for families.”

Cross has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Middle Tennessee State University. He began his role as deputy press secretary on Dec. 6.
