The Sumner County Election office will offer early voting for all 2020 elections with important changes.
Both the Gallatin and Hendersonville locations have moved and both will be open for the entire early voting period.
Early voting in Gallatin has been changed from the Sumner County Administration Building to Freedom Church, 1010 Freedom Church Road just off the Greenlea Boulevard exit on Highway 386 (Vietnam Veterans) and the Hendersonville location will now be at the Hendersonville Church of Christ, Imperial Square Entrance, at 132 Imperial Blvd.
Hours at the Gallatin location are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Hendersonville hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday hours at both locations is 9 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.
The Gallatin location change from the Sumner County Administration Building was due to safety concerns over parking. During large voter turnout there are not enough parking spaces at the Administration Building to handle all the voters.
Sumner County Administrator of Elections Lori D. Atchley said early voting has simply outgrown the Administration Building location and impact residents’ ability to conduct other business at the building during early voting.
Early voting satellite locations will still be operated on specific days in Goodlettsville at the Church of the Nazarene, 400 Loretta Dr., in Portland at the Community Center Gym, 303 Portland Blvd., in Westmoreland at the “Old” Elementary School, 3012 Thompson Lane at Austin Peay Highway and in White House at the White House City Hall, 105 College St.
For the March 3, 2020 Presidential Preference and Sumner County Primary, the early voting period is Wednesday, Feb. 12 through Thursday, Feb. 25.
