At the Dec. 13 meeting of the General Jethro Sumner DAR Chapter, Past Regent Tazewell Anne Upshaw Ford was unanimously elected as the chapter’s first Honorary Chapter Regent.

Ford served the General Jethro Sumner Chapter as secretary, treasurer, historian and as regent.  She also served as the Tennessee Cumberland District Director.

She is a founding director of Sumner Academy and was a volunteer at Sumner Regional Medical Center for over 30 years.  Ford was an avid volunteer in historic preservation efforts in Gallatin.  She sat on the board for historic Cragfont, Rosemont, and Bledsoe’s Lick Park.

This year, she celebrated 50 years of continuous membership in NSDAR.  The chapter is so proud of this wonderful lady and is so happy to honor her for her dedication and service to the chapter.
