After two decades on the bench, longtime General Sessions Judge I Jim Hunter is officially hanging up his robe this week.

Hunter’s last day with the county was Aug. 31. The soon to be 70-year-old has served on the bench since July 2003 when he was first appointed to take over for then Judge Johnny Jones following his retirement. Prior to that, he spent 23 years as a general practice attorney in Gallatin.
