One person was killed during a three-vehicle crash last month in Gallatin.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Red River Road and West Eastland Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, according to Lt. Bill Vahldiek with the Gallatin Police Department.
Police say that a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster was traveling westbound on Red River Road when it was struck by a 1996 Ford F-150 that failed to yield as it was turning left onto West Eastland Avenue.
“They struck where the truck was turning in and the motorcycle became stuck underneath (the vehicle),” Vahldiek said. “Both vehicles then collided with (a Toyota 4Runner), which was stopped on West Eastland waiting to turn onto Red River.”
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as John Joseph Ring III, 43 of Gallatin, was transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center where he later died.
No other injuries were reported.
According to police, the driver of the truck has been charged with failure to yield and the investigation remains ongoing.
