NIC Global will spend $2 million to expand operations and add 28 new jobs at its manufacturing facility in Gallatin, state and company officials announced Friday.
The company, which currently employs 200 workers at its location on Belvedere Drive, specializes in mechanical and electromechanical assembly, expert sheet metal fabrication and a global source of metal and plastic components.
“Since choosing to locate our second manufacturing facility here in 2004, we have emerged as an industry leader in quality and innovation,” NIC Global Vice President Troy Wood said in a prepared statement Friday. “Our Gallatin… team has been a cornerstone of our success and we are excited to continue investing in our team and community.”
As part of its expansion, NIC Global will invest in new fabrication equipment, special error-proofing systems and upgrades to its powder coating capabilities, according to a news release. The company also plans to add 26,000-square-feet of additional manufacturing space to support new programs.
During the last five years, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has supported nearly 15 economic development projects in Sumner County, resulting in 2,200 job commitments and a combined $1 billion in capital investments.
“When companies choose to expand in Tennessee, it underscores our state’s business-friendly climate and highly-skilled workforce,” Gov. Bill Lee said in a prepared statement about the expansion. “We’re grateful to NIC for its continued investment in Gallatin and for these new jobs created for Tennesseans.”
Founded in 1999, NIC Global is headquartered in Woodinville, Wash. In addition to Tennessee, the company also has locations in Ohio and Texas.
