One person was critically injured during a shooting at an apartment complex in Gallatin last week.
The shooting occurred June 7 in a parking lot at the Chapel Ridge apartments on Airport Road, according to Lt. Lamar Ballard with the Gallatin Police Department.
“It looks like there was some type of disturbance that caused the fight or argument,” Ballard said.
The victim, identified as Paul Watkins, was shot multiple times in the torso, according to police. He was transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center and then to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he underwent surgery later that afternoon.
As of Friday, authorities were still searching for Bruce Smith, 40 of Nashville. He is charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting.
Smith is described by police as a black male who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He was last seen on foot wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and has multiple tattoos on his arms.
Anyone with information about the case, including the whereabouts of Bruce Smith, is asked to contact the Gallatin Police Department at 615-452-1313.
