Gallatin police say Bruce Smith of Nashville has been charged with attempted homicide and reckless endangerment in connection with a shooting that occurred at the Chapel Ridge apartment complex Monday afternoon.

Gallatin police are searching for a Nashville man wanted in connection with a shooting that took place at an apartment complex Monday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in a parking lot at the Chapel Ridge apartment complex off Airport Road, according to Lt. Lamar Ballard with the Gallatin Police Department.

“It looks like there was some type of disturbance that caused the fight or argument,” Ballard said.

The male victim, whose name has not yet been released, was shot multiple times in the torso, Ballard added. He was transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center and then to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was undergoing surgery as of Monday afternoon.

Authorities are searching for Bruce Smith, who they say has been charged with attempted homicide and reckless endangerment in connection with the shooting.

Smith, who is likely still armed, is described as a black male who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, according to police. He was last seen on foot wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and has multiple tattoos on his arms.
