UPDATE: Cody Boettcher, the suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday on Peninsula Drive in Gallatin, has been taken into custody in Indiana, according to Gallatin police. No additional details were immediately available.

Gallatin police are searching for a suspect wanted in connected with a fatal stabbing on Halloween.

The stabbing occurred during an altercation Thursday morning at a residence in the 1100-block of Peninsula Drive, according to Gallatin Police Chief Don Bandy.

The suspect, identified as Cody W. Boettcher, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Police believe Boettcher could be traveling in a black 2015 Chevrolet Malibu with an Ohio license plate of HIU8066. He also may be traveling north towards Medina, Ohio where he is originally from.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released although police say the two were roommates.
