How Gallatin has been impacted by Covid-19 and the challenges facing the city as a result of the ongoing pandemic will be a major focus of Mayor Paige Brown’s annual State of the City address next week.
The presentation will be delivered during the Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly membership luncheon on Monday, Oct. 19. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will take place at the Epic Event Centre, located at 392 W. Main St.
“(The address) will look back at the experiences our city has had related to Covid-19 and the impact that both our government and private sector have experienced as well,” Brown said. “Frankly, we’re in a better position than we anticipated being in several months ago. The thing that concerns me is that Covid-19 is not gone and… I think we will see people continue to have difficulties related to the virus whether they be health or financial.
“We’re also going to tell the story about some good things that have happened, some positive directions we’re going and give some information that we think will be interesting to citizens.”
A live video stream of the presentation will be available for those who do not want to attend the event in person, according to organizers. A ticket is also required and includes a boxed lunch that can be picked up from Epic Event Centre prior to the start of the event.
Reservations for both in-person and virtual options are required and must be made by Friday, Oct. 16. Tickets are $18 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. They can be purchased online at www.gallatintn.org or by contacting the Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce at 615-452-4000.
