George T. Stamps, Sr. passed away Oct. 7th. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Teresa (Smith), his children Cathey Stamps (Laurie Oswald), Tom Stamps (Kathy), Greg Stamps (Kerrey), Amy Billings (John), 10 adoring grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren (and counting).
Born in Nashville to John Stamps and Sarah Atkinson Stamps, George graduated from Litton High School, remaining involved and close to his classmates throughout his life. He loved baseball and was a gifted coach, touching hundreds of lives and leading his teams to many championships including a Senior Babe Ruth League World Championship in 1980. He’ll be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, quiet service to others, and his love for family, friends, and community.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct 15th at the First Methodist Church in Hendersonville at 217 E Main St. Visitation is 4:30 – 6:30 PM with service to follow.
