James Patrick Murphy, 67, of Camillus, N.Y. passed away on May 8, 2020 with his soulmate by his side.
Pat was born Sept. 2, 1952, son of Carolyn Langley. He graduated from Cato Meridian High School and attended Cayuga Community College while working at Camillus Cutlery and Burns Detective Agency. Pat made a career in The United States Navy, proudly serving aboard The USS Saratoga, USS Guam, Helicopter Squadron 7, Patrol Squadron 24, NRD Buffalo, and NRD Nashville. After retirement from The Navy, he worked for various companies in the southeast.
Pat is survived by the love of his life, Joyce (Cramer) Murphy; daughter, Brooke Murphy; sons, Will (Jasmine) Murphy and Kiel (Alison) Murphy all of Nashville, TN; sister, Jan Halbach; two brothers, Dan and Tim; and nine grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pat is also survived by his extended family, all who provided love and support.
Pat was a past member of the American Legion Post 17 and The Knights of Columbus. He volunteered regularly at the Gallatin, TN nursing home, with youth groups, as a volunteer substitute teacher, and through The KOC Projects.
