Mr. Kirby Gene Fudge age 84, of Hendersonville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Mr. Fudge was born in Oxford, MS, on June 3, 1936, the son of the late Buel Fudge and Zola Metts Fudge. He proudly served in the United States Army. Mr. Fudge attended college at University of Mississippi and was an avid Old Miss fan.  He retired as an automotive sales agent after many years of service. Mr. Fudge was raised at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church in Oxford, MS, after marriage he attended Church Road in South Haven, MS, College Heights Baptist Church, and Hendersonville First Baptist where he served as a deacon for many years, as well as on the Trustee and Transportation Committee. He loved his church family and being very active with church activities. Mr. Fudge said, “If anyone asks how I want to be remembered, please say the following: I love Jesus, my family, and friends and I want the whole world to be saved!” How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the herald, who proclaims peace, who brings news of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fudge was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Gene Fudge.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Inez Jean Fudge, to whom he was married on June 24, 1960; a daughter, Kristi Jane Yarger; a granddaughter, Lauren Fudge Maurer (Garrett); and three grandsons, Matthew Kyle Fudge, Zander Yarger, and Slava Yarger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 19, 2020, at 2:00 P.M., Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Chesser and Dr. Larry Gilmore officiating. Entombment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family respectfully requests for everyone to wear their mask and social distancing.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from noon until the service hour at Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center 2229 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066.

The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the church on Monday by 1:30 P.M.: grandsons, Matt Fudge, Zander Yarger, and Slava Yarger, Bobby Fortenberry, Steven Fortenberry, David Fortenberry, Mickey Phipps, and Fred Rogers. The honorary pallbearers will be Julian Avery and Bradley Men’s Connect Group.
