Murl Smalling, 90, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
Funeral Services were conducted from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette on Friday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Jimmy Claiborne officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Victor Gonzalez, Howard Smalling, Larry Gass, Jared Smalling, Mike Scott, and Hank Smalling served as Pallbearers.
Murl Louis Smalling was born on Saturday, August 17, 1929, in Gamaliel, KY, one of ten children born to the late Edward and (Elka) Bray Smalling. He was married to the love of his life, the former Jeanetta Scott on August 17, 1957, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2014. They moved to Chicago, IL and Earl worked for the Coca-Cola Company as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. After retirement, He and his wife moved to Macon County, TN where they lived for a few years. While there, they attended the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in the Galen Community. In addition to his wife and parents, Murl was preceded in death by brothers, Henry Smalling, Zenas Smalling, Gerald Smalling, and Harrell Smalling and sisters, Dorothy Celsor, Orbra Kurpewski, and Dema Gass.
He is survived by, brothers, Wendell and wife Dorothy Smalling, Victor and wife Shirley Smalling, all of Bowling Green, KY,
sisters-in-law, Marie Smalling and Shirley Smalling of Bowling Green,
