Paul L. Waugh, 78, of Winona Lake, died at 12:49 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday.

 

He was born September 11, 1940 in Whitley County, Indiana, a son of the late Robert K. and Imogene (Wolfe) Waugh.  His formative years were spent in Raleigh, NC. He returned to the area after a few years in South America with the family and graduated from Larwill High School in 1958.  He continued his education at Purdue University.

 

On May 26, 1973, he was united in marriage to Pamela Samuelson.  They made their home in Bethpage, TN for 20 years. They then returned to Kosciusko County.  Pamela died December 10, 2008.

 

He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of North Webster and the North Webster United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, working on old farm tractors and more recently, he had taken an interest in aerial drones.

 

He is survived by his children, Andrew (Becky) Waugh, Warsaw, Megan Waugh, Goshen, Sherri (Vern) Borkholder, Goshen, Shelley (Robert) Vernatter, Tippecanoe and Lisa (Steve) Fulton, Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Billy Jo) Waugh, Elgin, IL and John Waugh, Breaux Bridges, LA and a sister, Lindel (John) McCarty, Columbus, OH.

 

The funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.  Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Preferred memorials are to the 24-Hour Club, Warsaw or Serenity House, Auburn.
