Ronald Bishopp Miller, 78, passed away on November 27 in Hendersonville.  

He was the son of Horace and Helen Bishopp Miller. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Barbara Miller of Gallatin and his daughters, Koreen Miller of Clifton, NJ and Edie Paige Holloway, her husband Wayne, and grandchildren Luke, Caleigh, and Wayne of Gallatin, TN. He is survived by his brother, Doug Miller of Needmore, PA and cousins Bob Schaller of Rome, NY and Marcia Norris of West Leyden, NY. There are also many more extended family members that were very dear to him.

Ron worked as an industrial salesman for his career – including time with Revere Copper & Brass, Revere Solar, and owning his own company, Machine Control Automation.

A past President of the Rome NY Jaycees, his civic involvement had a strong focus on environmental conservation. From recycling efforts that supported plantings in Rome to helping launch the walking path along the old Black River Canal that is now part of the North Country Trail.

His hobbies were focused on music, cooking and sailing. Music was a love from an early age and cooking became a focus later in life. His love of entertaining was an outlet for his cooking, and his many jokes. He is former member of the Harbor Island Yacht Club, and made many friends there.

There was no memorial service or funeral per his request. His ashes will be scattered in Kauai, Hawaii per his request.
