A Gallatin police officer was arrested Thursday on assault charges stemming from an earlier incident involving a domestic dispute with a juvenile.
Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) arrested and charged Vincent Marquez, 59 on July 2.
On April 27, at the request of 18th District Attorney General Ray Whitley, TBI agents began investigating the allegation involving Marquez.
During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that Marquez, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, assaulted a juvenile related to his girlfriend.
Marquez is charged with one count of domestic assault. He was booked into the Sumner County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.
The TBI is the lead investigator in this case and no additional information has been released at this time.
