Gallatin is going up across the board – jobs, population, economy and investment. We have a great story to tell. In the world of economic development, you have to tell that story in a condensed form and tell it fast. One tool the Gallatin Economic Development Agency uses is our annual marketing book.

The 2019 book is fresh from the printer with a focus this year on talent pipeline and quality of place. You can flip through it at GallatinGetsIt.com. You’re also welcome to pick up a copy at our office in City Hall.

Gallatin is such a spectacular place. Every department in the city is doing incredible things, particularly with the growth that we are seeing. We have lots to be proud of, and brag about. Our new book helps us do that.

The annual book captures the essence of Gallatin’s assets along with providing data that prospects can digest in a short format. For example, our sales tax collections are up 32 percent in the last five years. We are served by rail and river. We have 34 colleges and universities in a 50-mile radius with 26,000 graduates annually. Sumner County Schools are #7 in top school districts in Tennessee.

Gallatin is in the top 10 of America’s Power Suburbs. We’re in the top 10 of Most Diverse Suburbs in Tennessee. We are the 2017 Nicest Place in America.

The book also shows our proximity to Nashville which is a huge benefit and resource for prospects looking to locate in Gallatin. Nashville is the fasted growing small market for tech talent in the U.S. and Canada. Tennessee is the #2 best business friendly state for small business. More than 40 percent of the U.S. population lives within 600 miles of Nashville.

While there’s a lot of data in the book, it’s the pictures that give a prospect the vibe of our city. The pictures show the fun you can have on Old Hickory Lake. They show people at our events like the free concerts on the square and the Fire on the Water Music Festival. There are pages dedicated to Parks and Recreation.

Pictures capture the artistic view of products made here in Gallatin. They share the vibrancy of Welch College and Volunteer State Community College. They show the diversity of Gallatin’s talent pipeline. And, they remind prospects they are only 23 miles from downtown Nashville, a city on National Geographic’s Cool List of top 18 world destinations. (Yes, Nashville is on the Cool List with Paris, Perth, Singapore, Amsterdam and Sri Lanka.)

The Gallatin EDA is proud to represent our city to companies nationally and internationally. We should all take a minute to brag on Gallatin. Our new book does just that. Gallatin: Simply remarkable and remarkably simple.
