SPEARS, conveying certain real property therein described to CHARLES E. Sumner County Sheriff ’s Office

Civil Service Employee Qualifications and Testing

On January 11, 2020 the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office will have their annual testing for all ENTRY LEVEL positions. Testing to be held at Joe Shafer Middle School, 240 Albert Gallatin Road, Gallatin TN 37066. You should arrive by 8:00 am to be registered and the testing will begin at 9:00 am.

Corrections Officer -Entry Level: You must be a United States Citizen. You must have honorable discharge if military service was performed. You must be a minimum of 18 years old, be a high school or GED graduate, pass a written civil service test, pass background investigation, pass physical examination, pass psychological examination, pass drug screening test and be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. You will be required to become Tennessee Corrections Institute certified and maintain T.C.I. certification. You will be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Cook -Entry Level: You must be a United States citizen. Must be a minimum of 18 years old, high school or GED graduate, pass civil service oral board test, pass background investigation, pass physical examination, pass drug screening test and be willing to work shifts. weekends and holidays as needed. Must have verifiable experience as a cook, working with budgets, menus, ordering supplies and supervisory experience of employees or volunteers and provide references. You will be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Maintenance - Entry Level: You must be a United States citizen. Must be a minimum of 18 years old, high school or GED graduate, pass civil service oral board test, pass background investigation, pass physical examination, pass drug screening test and be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. You must have verifiable experience In maintenance work and provide references. You will be required to maintain a valid drivers license.

Clerical - Entry Level: You must be a United States citizen. You must be a minimum age of 18 years old, high school or GED graduate, pass written civil service test, pass background investigation, pass physical examination, pass drug screening test and be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. May be required to become T.B.I. / N.C.I.C. certified and maintain T.B.I. / N.C.I.C. certification.

Deputy - Entry Level: You must be a United States Citizen, You must have honorable discharge if military service was performed. You mustbe a minimum of 18 years old, be a high school or GED graduate, pass a written civil service test, pass background investigation, pass physical examination, pass psychological examination (or possess current psychological certification), pass drug screening test and be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. You will be required to comply with a Tennessee Police Officer Standards and Training rules and regulations any may be required to become P.O.S.T. certified and maintain certification with P.O.S.T. Position includes assignments to patrol, warrants, school resource program, drug task force, court security and other similar duties as needed. You will be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.

The Board of County Commissioners of Sumner County, Tennessee met on December 16, 2019 in a regular meeting at the Sumner County Administration Building, 355 North Belvedere Drive, Gallatin, Tennessee, with Scott Langford, Chairman, presiding. The following resolution was adopted:

INITIAL RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY- SIX MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($86,750,000) GENERAL OBLIGATION PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF SUMNER COUNTY, TENNESSEE

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) of Sumner County, Tennessee (the “County”) that for the purpose of financing, in whole or in part, the (i) design, site development, constructing, improving, renovating and equipping of the justice center, parking garage, courthouse, and related facilities; (ii) acquisition of all property real and personal related to or connected with such projects; (iii) payment of legal, fiscal, administrative, architectural and engineering costs incident thereto; (iv) reimbursement to the County for funds previously expended for any of the foregoing; and (v) payment of costs incident to the issuance and sale of such bonds, there shall be issued bonds of the County in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $86,750,000 which shall bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed five percent (5%) per annum, and which shall be payable from unlimited ad valorem taxes to be levied on all taxable property within the County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the County Clerk of the County be, and is, hereby directed and instructed to cause the foregoing initial resolution relative to the issuance of not to exceed $86,750,000 general obligation public improvement bonds to be published in full in a newspaper having a general circulation in the County, for one issue of said paper followed by the statutory notice, to-wit:

The foregoing resolution has been adopted. Unless within twenty (20) days from the date of publication hereof a petition signed by at least ten percent (10%) of the registered voters of the County shall have been filed with the County Clerk of the County protesting the issuance of the bonds, such bonds will be issued as proposed.
