On November 3, 2020, the City Council of Gallatin, Tennessee,

pursuant to Notice, held a Show Cause Hearing under Gallatin Municipal

Code, Chapter 5, Article IX, Section 5-241, et seq., Dangerous Buildings, in

regards to the property and structure located at the above address. Neither

Mr. William Hill nor any other person appeared to testify before City Council.

Based upon the record of notices, correspondence, photographs, staff

report, statements before the Council, and the record as a whole, the City

of Gallatin, Tennessee, did find that said structure is a dangerous building

and unfit for human occupation or use pursuant to Gallatin Municipal Code,

Section 5-242 and Tenn. Code Ann. Sec. 13-21-101, et. seq. The City

Council of the City of Gallatin specifically finds the structure is a dangerous

building and unfit for human occupation or use for the following reasons:

structure is unsanitary and unsafe; broken/missing/burned stairs and

landings; broken/missing/burned decks and porches; broken/missing/burned

handrails and guardrails; broken/missing/burned insulation and sheetrock;

no water or sewer services and no working pipes in the building; no heating

source in the building; and garbage and rubbish accumulation. Because of

these conditions, the building is unsafe, unsanitary and dangerous to the

health, safety, morals and general welfare of the people of this City.

The City of Gallatin, Tennessee, further directs that the aforenamed

owner shall have thirty (30) calendar days from the date of this Order in

which to either (1) remove the building or (2) bring the dangerous building

into compliance with applicable codes. If the owner fails to comply with

this Order, the City shall demolish the building, with all costs of demolition

assessed against the property owner as a lien. During the thirty (30) day

period, no person shall be permitted byte owner to occupy the structure, and

the building shall be posted with a Dangerous Building Notice.

Pursuant to Executive Order Number 65, one or more members of the Sumner County

Commission may be participating electronically in the regularly scheduled Commission meeting of

Monday, November 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. (local time).

The meeting will be held at 355 N. Belvedere Drive, Gallatin, Tennessee, 37066, in the Bethel

Brown County Commission Chambers, as previously noticed.

The meeting will still be live and in person, as well as streamed live online on the county

website: www.sumnertn.org .

Citizens will be able to attend live as usual. They will also be able to email any public

comments to County Clerk Bill Kemp at clerk@sumnercountytn.gov prior to the start of the meeting.
