2020 Public Parks and Recreation Grant &

Sumner County Parks Master Plan

Public Meeting

Sumner County will hold a public meeting on October 29, 2020 at 5:30 P.M., at the Bledsoe Lick Historical

Park (Pavilion) located at 2895 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN 37031. The purpose of the hearing

is to discuss the application for a 2020 Public Parks and Recreation Grant Project administered by the

Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (TDEC) for the William and Martha Brown

Memorial Park at Liberty Creek.

The public hearing will also include review and discussion for the Sumner County Parks Master Plan.

Sumner County is completing a Master Plan process for Parks and Trails and seeking public comment on

current facilities and any future improvements. This project will serve the residents of Sumner County. All

residents are invited and encouraged to attend this informational meeting and provide comments. Sumner

The City Council of the City of Gallatin adopted the following resolution on October 20, 2020:

PUBLIC NOTICE

The City Council of the City of Gallatin, Tennessee (the “Municipality”) hereby resolves

to issue bonds of the Municipality to finance (i) capital costs related to the acquisition, improvement

and equipping of public works facilities, including without limitation: (A) streets, roads and related

transportation facilities; (B) drainage and stormwater facilities; (C) fire stations and public safety

training facilities; (D) golf course, parks, recreational and community facilities; (E) City Hall; and (F)

downtown parking facilities (collectively, the “Projects”); and (ii) bond issuance costs. The aggregate

principal amount of the bonds shall not exceed $11,500,000, and the aggregate interest rate on the bonds

shall not exceed the maximum rate permitted by applicable law. The bonds shall be general obligations

of the Municipality, payable from unlimited ad valorem taxes to be levied on all taxable property within

the corporate limits of the Municipality.

The City Council further resolves to direct the City Recorder of the Municipality to publish

the foregoing initial resolution in a newspaper having a general circulation in the Municipality followed

by the following statutory notice:

This project includes the roofing of the Comer Barn at 2310 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN. The

project includes: approximately 11,560 SF of roof with all necessary appurtenances, existing

decking demolition and replacement, and other miscellaneous items. Bids will be received for

both fiberglass-asphalt shingles and metal roofing.

Sealed Bids will be received by SUMER COUNTY, at 355 N. Belvedere Drive, Room 102; Gallatin, TN

37066, in the COUNTY MAYOR’S office until 10:00 AM., November 6, 2020 and opened publicly

in the Mayor’s Conference Room at that hour. The reading of the bids will begin at 10:00 A.M. CST.

Sealed Bids should have on the outside of the submittal envelope the following information: (1)

PROPOSAL CONTRACTS WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL THE TIME SET FOR OPENING BIDS

A Contractor must be licensed with the State of Tennessee. No bid bond is required. A performance

bond will be required by the successful bidder. A Certificate of Insurance will be required to meet

Sumner County requirements with Sumner County declared as additionally insured. This project

is funded partly under an agreement with the State of Tennessee.

SUMNER COUNTY hereby notifies all bidders that no Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)

goal has been set on this contract. However, the use of DBE or minority and women owned firms

is encouraged.

SUMNER COUNTY hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract

entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full

opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and will not be discriminated against on the

NOTICE OF GRAND JURY MEETING

“It is the duty of your Grand Jurors to investigate any public offense which they

know or have reason to believe has been committed and which is triable or

indictable in this county. Any person having knowledge or proof that such an

offense has been committed may apply to testify before the Grand Jury.”
