ON October 1, 2019, the City Council of Gallatin, Tennessee, pursuant to Notice, held a Show Cause Hearing under Gallatin Municipal Code, Chapter 5, Article IX, Section 5-241, et. seq., Dangerous Buildings, in regards to the property and structure located at the above address.

Based upon the record of notices, correspondence, photographs, staff report, and statements before the Council, the City of Gallatin, Tennessee, did find that said structure is a dangerous building and unfit for human occupation or use pursuant to Gallatin Municipal Code, Section 5- 241(5), (9) and Tenn. Code Ann. Sec. 13-21-101, et. seq. The City of Gallatin specifically finds that the building has the following deficiencies that render it dangerous: structure is unsanitary and unsafe; deteriorating accessory structures; broken/missing/ burned and water damaged floor joists; broken/missing/burned and water damaged ceiling joists; broken/missing/burned and water damaged roof rafters; broken/missing/burned and water damaged roof rafters; broken/missing/burned and water damaged roof shingles; broken/missing/burned foundation walls; broken/missing/ burned and holes/chips/cracks in siding; broken/missing/burned and water damaged windows, sills and screens; broken/missing/ burned and water damaged door and frames;broken/missing/burned and water damaged decks and porches; broken/missing/burned and water damaged eves and overhangs; broken/missing/burned and water damaged soffits; and garbage accumulation, all of which are inadequate to protect the health, morals, safety or general welfare of human beings. Because of these conditions, the building is unsafe, unsanitary and dangerous to the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the people of this City.

The City of Gallatin, Tennessee, further directs that the heirs of the aforenamed owner and all other interested parties shall have ninety (90) calendar days from the date of this Order in which to either (1) remove the building or (2) bring the dangerous building into compliance with applicable codes, or the building shall be demolished, with all costs of demolition assessed against the property owner as a lien. During the ninety (90) day period, no person shall be permitted by the owner to occupy the structure and the building shall be posted with a Dangerous Building Notice.
